What is Yoshukai karate?
Yoshukai karate is a Japanese style built on the foundation of the art known as “empty hand fighting.” Students learn punching, striking, kicking, blocking, sweeps, throws and take downs, and practice kata (forms) and kumite (free sparring) with emphasis on form, balance, timing, power, speed and spirit. Advanced training in weaponry and self-defense is also provided.
Who can take classes?
Classes are open to adults and to children age 7 and up.
When are classes held?
Classes meet on Monday and Thursday evenings. The Class Schedule page always has the current class times.
Where are classes held?
At the Titusville Ballet and Jazz Center, Sears Town Mall, 3550 South Washington Ave., Titusville, FL 32780.
Can I watch a class before joining?
Yes. Visitors are welcome to watch a class. Adults and children age 7 and up can start any time; please contact us before your first class.

What are the benefits of karate training?
Training builds physical and mental fitness, self defense and self discipline, and helps develop balance, flexibility, strength, character and self-confidence.
Is TYKI part of a larger organization?
Yes. TYKI is a member school of Yoshukai Karate International, governed by the Yoshukai Testing Board of Directors. Members meet each year for clinics, seminars and a summer camp.
